Wanted 3 in NDC office shooting surrender to police

Three out of 12 suspects declared wanted by the police in connection with the killing of Wasiu Iddrisu at the Ashanti Regional office of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have reported themselves to the police.

The three are currently in police custody and would be put before court on Monday.

Addressing the media on Friday, the Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr Godwin Ahianyo said the three reported themselves to the police on Thursday, February 28, 2019.

ASP Godwin Ahianyo said the police are still pursuing the remaining suspects.

They are Abdul Bari Mohammed alias ‘Worrior’, Midjima, Abu Taliban, Saani Mohammed alias “Commando’ and Gyafare alias ‘Elemernt’.

The rest are Fuseni alias ‘Jah Rule’, Demos, Fayiz and Suleman alias ‘Akon’.

One person was shot dead at the Ashanti Regional Office of the NDC on February 18 where the leadership of the party had gathered to plan the just ended presidential primaries.

One other person sustained gunshot wounds and is responding to treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

The incident happened during an altercation between at least one of the victims and the shooter.
